As announced on March 16, 2020, due to the coronavirus pandemic the Marlborough Public Library is closed to the public at this time. For frequent updates, check the City of Marlborough Coronavirus Response Hub.
We are talking to libraries across the Commonwealth and monitoring local conditions and guidance from Governor Baker’s Reopening Advisory Board to gather input for a reopening plan. We, like many libraries, are offering Contactless Holds Pickup by appointment only in response to recent guidelines. Future updates about MPL’s reopening will appear on our website and Facebook page. CLICK HERE TO LEARN ABOUT CONTACTLESS HOLDS PICKUP.
We will continue to monitor guidance for the next phases of the reopening plan. Please check our website and Facebook page for updates.
Remote Library Services and Returns
Library staff are available by phone 508-624-6900 and via email at [email protected] from 9am until 5pm, Monday through Friday.
You may return items to the outside bins at this time, but please observe social distancing guidelines if staff or other patrons are there. We will quarantine returned items for 72 hours before they will be checked in and removed from your account. No fines will be charged for late items at this time. Please do not return board games, Wifi hotspots or other items from our "Library of Things" at this time. Do not drop off donations.
We are temporarily waiving the requirement that you register for a card in person and will work with patrons via phone and email to register people who do not currently have library cards. We will also be available to assist people who have forgotten their library card passwords, or just need to update the expiration date on their library card.
Check our FAQ page for additional information about the status of the Library.
