Fandom Fridays

Spring 2020
Fandom Fridays

Fun stuff for you Anime & Manga superfans, shared every Friday while the library is closed.

May 8: Wrap up Star Wars week with some delicious Wookiee cookies from A Few Shortcuts. They only take half an hour to make, so pop them in the oven while you're putting on one of the movies and they'll be ready to go by the time the opening crawl is over.

May 1: We miss seeing you all at Anime & Manga Club! You know what else we miss? Pocky, of course! Luckily there are some great recipes out there for homemade pocky, like this one from A Cozy Kitchen. The best part about making your own pocky is coming up with your own toppings so get creative and invent a new flavor!

April 24: Has your interest in Anime and Manga made you curious about learning Japanese? Learn while watching Sailor Moon on this Youtube Channel. Or try Mango Languages, an easy-to-use online program you can access using your library card. Another great resource is Tofugu.com, which has great, easy-to-understand lessons on lots of topics.

April 17: There are lots of Studio Ghibli related quizzes out there, but this one sets itself apart by asking questions that are as fun and whimsical as the films themselves. Answer them all to find out which Ghibli film best corresponds to your personality!

April 6: Did you know that you can read the 3 most recent chapters of Demon SlayerMy Hero AcademiaThe Promised Neverland, and many more of your favorites for free on Viz.com? If you're missing the library's manga collection, give it a try!
