About the Mayor
Mayor J. Christian Dumais is a fifth-generation Marlborough resident. He grew up in downtown Marlborough on High Street. Growing up, he delivered papers for the Marlborough Enterprise and scooped ice cream at Trombettas. A proud graduate of Marlborough High School, he went on to obtain his Business Administration degree from Lasell University. Mayor Dumais has been a small business owner since 2010, owning DruMais Hair Salon & Day Spa in downtown Marlborough. He spent three terms on the City Council representing Ward 3, which encompasses much of the west side of the city and downtown. During his time on the City Council, Mayor Dumais served on the West Side Fire Station Committee for two years. He was elected Mayor in the 2023 election and assumed office on January 1st, 2024.
About the Office
The Mayor is the Chief Executive Officer of the City of Marlborough. Elected every two years, the Mayor is responsible for the daily operation of city government and is entrusted to act in its best interests. In addition, the Mayor also serves as the Chairman of the Marlborough School Committee.
