Wireless Hotspots

In order to support the Marlborough Public Library’s mission of providing access to information and to support the diverse needs of our community, the Marlborough Public Library circulates wi-fi hotspots.  Borrow a library HotSpot to work on school projects, job searching online, vacations, or just fun! Started working on something in the library but want to continue working on it from home? Borrow a HotSpot!

Place a Hold!

You can now put a hold on a Hotspot.  You may pick up your Hotspot the once you receive notice your hold is ready.  Place a Hold for a hotspot here.

Additional Information:
  • Hotspots circulate to adults 18 years or older for 3 weeks with no renewal.
  • Hotspots are limited to one per household at any given time.
  • A patron who has borrowed a hotspot may not reserve another until the borrowed hotspot has been returned to the library.
  • There will be a charge of $5 for each day that a hotspot is overdue.
  • Library staff reserve the right to revoke hotspot borrowing privileges where a patron has not followed this policy or the hotspot borrowing policy of another library.
  • Patrons are responsible for damage, loss or theft of hotspots or any of the accompanying materials. Severity of the damage will be solely determined by library staff and may result in a $35 replacement fee.
  • The Marlborough Public Library is not responsible for any information a patron accesses while using a wi-fi hotspot or any actions they take while online. Using the hotspot to access any online content determined to be illegal or obscene according to federal, state or municipal law will result in revocation of hotspot borrowing privileges and possible criminal prosecution.
  • All wi-fi hotspots must be returned inside the Library at the Circulation Desk during normal Library hours. They may not be returned in the book drop.
  • All patrons will be required to fill out a hotspot loan form that confirms their acceptance of the terms of this policy. The form will be destroyed when the device is returned to the library.
