Library Renovation Project

Building the Dream
For over 100 years the Marlborough Public Library has been a destination for the citizens of Marlborough, serving as a center of knowledge for all ages and a hub of community activity.
The current renovation and expansion project will ensure this community treasure will continue to meet the needs of residents for years to come by creating a 21st century library that retains the beautiful historic elements of the existing Carnegie building. Expected to open in spring of 2023, the new facility will address many of the needs and issues identified in a survey completed by over 1,000 residents.

Help Build the Dream!
The City of Marlborough has approved a $23,780,902 bond for the project which will be significantly offset by a $10,186,626 grant awarded to the library by the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners. The Marlborough Public Library Foundation is committed to supporting this project by raising $2,000,000 from friends, neighbors, and businesses to further offset the cost.
