The Marlborough Public Library Board of Trustees consists of nine volunteer members who represent the community as they govern the library. Trustees are appointed by the Mayor to serve a 3 year term. There are no limits on the number of terms a trustee can serve. The Board meets on the first Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. from September through June, and as necessary during the summer months.
Trustees delegate the administration and operation of the library to the director. They hire and evaluate the director; set library policy; advocate for sufficient funding to operate the library; and act as liaisons to the Mayor and City Council members.
Any adult resident of Marlborough who would like an appointment as a library trustee should send a written request to the Mayor.
