MISSION STATEMENT
The Marlborough Cultural Council is a part of municipal government with the members of the Council appointed by the Mayor. The funds for the grants are an allocation of public dollars from the state provided by the Governor and State Legislature.
The mission of the Cultural Council is to promote excellence, access, education and diversity in the arts, humanities and sciences in order to improve the quality of life for Marlborough residents and to contribute to the economic vitality of our community.
Meetings are held as necessary and are posted on-line and at the City clerk’s office
Please read the following section of Massachusetts General Law 962 CMR 2:03
The local Council shall require the applicant to furnish a financial report to the local council not later than sixty (60) days after the completion of its program or project. The report shall provide an account of the use of the funds, including, where appropriate, the dates of payment, names of recipients and amounts expended.
Documentation, such as copies of checks, etc. must accompany your request for funds.
Acknowledgement
In all published/printed materials and announcements regarding the activity or programs supported by Cultural Council funds, the sponsoring group or individual must acknowledge such assistance with the following statement:
“This program is supported in part by the Marlborough Cultural Council, a local agency supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council”.
