Effective July 1, 2008, the City of Marlborough will no longer be processing passport applications. This service had been conceived as both a convenience for residents as well as a source of additional income for the City. However, the Marlborough Post Office began offering this benefit last February, and the time taken out of the trained employees’ routine workday proved cumbersome. Mayor Stevens’ proposal of a part-time clerk position to assume this duty had been rejected by the Council during the recent FY09 Budget review hearings. The Marlborough
Post Office currently processes passport applications Monday-Friday 10AM-3PM and Saturday 10AM-1PM.
