Transportation
Update!
“Busy Bee” is the provider and, in most cases, the vans will have “Busy Bee” logo on the sides. In the rare occasion that MWRTA needs to supplement rides with other providers in its system “Busy Bee” may not be the logo on the van.
Prepaid ticket booklets – We will work out something to allow for the advance purchase of ticket booklets to eliminate the need to have cash on hand to pay for each ride. Details will follow.
Group Trips – A group of 3 or more individuals from the same complex going to the same destination will constitute a group trip provided the reservations for all individuals are called in together, at the same time, by one rider. At present, group rides out of the MetroWest RTA region can be made only for medical or employment purposes – not for entertainment; however, a group could negotiate independently with Busy Bee for entertainment trips. Weekly shopping trips will continue on the previously established schedule; senior housing complexes need to establish the schedule for weekly group shopping trips.
Personal Care Attendant - Should an individual require a “personal care attendant”, that assistant can ride free when accompanying said individual provided the ride reservation for the personal care attendant is made at the same time as the primary ride booking. A personal care attendant for whom a ride reservation is not made in advance will be charged regular fare.
