Section 1 of Chapter 188, Marlborough City Code, states any vehicle located or parked within the limits of any way in the city which is interfering with the prompt and orderly removal of plowing of snow or the removal of ice from such way may be removed or caused to be removed by the Commissioner of Public Works at the sole expense of the owner of such vehicle to any convenient place or public garages located in the city by means of towing or otherwise, and the owner shall be responsible for the cost of such removal and storage charges, if any, incurred hereunder.
In all cases where it is necessary to move privately owned vehicles for purposes of snow removal and police with tow equipment are not available, extreme caution must be used to prevent damage to the vehicles moved. The MPD shall be requested to arrange for the removal of obstructing vehicles from the roadways.
In instances where vehicles are interfering with operations, the section Foreman shall notify the Street Dispatcher who in turn shall notify Police. The Police shall make the necessary arrangements through their towing service provider to have the vehicle removed. Vehicles removed under these circumstances shall be brought to a location under the control of the towing service provider.
