The City of Marlborough, the Awarding Authority, invites sealed bids from qualified contractors for Contract No. PF 8007001-VHB for the Rehabilitation of the Sligo Hill Water Tower and Appurtenant Work in Marlborough, MA, in accordance with the documents prepared by VHB. The Project consists of the replacement of the steel roof with a fiberglass system, replacement of the upper and lower steel walkways, replacement of the access ladders, and painting of the entire structure. The work is estimated to cost $550,000.
Bids are subject to M.G.L. c.30 §39M, c. 149 §44A-L, c. 149 §29 and to minimum wage rates as required by M.G.L. c.149 §§26-27H inclusive.
Bids will be received until 2:00 P.M., Thursday, May 1, 2008 and publicly opened, forthwith at the Office of the Public Facilities Director located at the Hildreth School, 85 Sawin Street, Marlborough, MA 01752.
Bids shall be accompanied by a bid deposit of not less than five (5%) percent of the value of the proposed work in accordance with M.G.L. c. 149, §44B, and made payable to the City of Marlborough, the Awarding Authority. The bid deposit may be in the form of a certified check, a treasurer’s or cashier’s check issued by a responsible bank or trust company; or a bid bond from a licensed surety qualified to do business in the commonwealth and satisfactory to the Awarding Authority.
The Contract Documents, including specifications and plans, may be obtained from the Office of the Public Facilities Director located at the Hildreth School, 85 Sawin Street, Marlborough, MA 01752, by email to jghiloni@mps-edu.org or by calling 508-460-3521 after 8:00 A.M. on Monday, April 14, 2008. Bidders requesting Contract Documents to be mailed to them shall provide its FedEx account number or include a check, paid in advance, for a non-refundable fee of $25.00 per set, payable to the City of Marlborough, the Awarding Authority, to cover FedEx handling costs.
A site inspection is scheduled for Thursday, April 17, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. at 97 Arnold Street Extension, Marlborough, MA. Attendance at this conference is strongly encouraged due to the nature and scope of this project.
