LEAD SERVICE REPLACEMENT PROGRAM
In an effort to ensure that all of Marlborough’s residents are receiving water that’s free from any lead, our Water & Sewer Division is partnering with the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority (MWRA) to replace every known lead water service in the City of Marlborough. Over the course of the next five years, the City will replace all remaining lead service lines. This project is expected to cost $5 million and the MWRA will assist us by providing the City with a 10 year no interest loan to fund the removal of all remaining lead service lines. The first phase of that program will begin this summer.

To learn more about lead service lines you can view an informational package put together by our Water & Sewer Division here. In that package, you will also find information on how you can identify a lead service should you have one, as well as how to reduce lead exposure by taking some simple steps. Of course, you can always reach out to our Water & Sewer Division directly by calling them (508) 624-6910 Ext. 33400
